Input –> Reality?

Have you heard of this saying?

Your input determines your thoughts,

Your thoughts determine  your words

Your words determine  your actions

Your actions determine  your character

Your character determines your habits

Your habits determine  your destiny.

This little saying holds true for every person on this planet.

Before the advent of all this technology we have available, our input was solely our experiences.

Who we were and the life we lived were determined by the sum of our experiences.

That experience was our reality.

Do you understanding what I am saying?  Our reality was what we SAW, we HEARD, we FELT, in our real life…. our INPUT.

Now what is the input that is shaping YOUR reality?

We have SO MUCH input!  From experiences, to books, to music, to internet, to TV, to film, input is everywhere!

So what kind of program are we receiving?

What kind of character is being built in the society?

What kind of world is being created?

I was just thinking, on this 54th birthday of Michael Jackson, that he wants to heal the world.  What a HUGE task!  If I wanted to change the entire world, how would I do that?

Input.

I’d have to change the minds of every individual.

How?

For many it would be as simple as controlling the media.

Media is the major form of input for many people around the world.

I tweeted yesterday “Did you know that our brain activity is very similar during sleeping and during film-watching?”  To expand, when we are watching TV, our subconscious brain is very active while our logical brain is dormant.  I don’t know if you realize the impact of that!  That means that as we watch movies/TV, we are in a state similar to that of being hypnotized!  Whatever we watch then determines our thoughts, words, actions, character, habits, and eventually destiny!

Let me repeat: The impact of this is huge!  Our realities are being controlled by things  entering our minds!  Our subconscious CAN NOT differentiate between what is real and what is in the media.

If this is true, then the way to heal the world, I believe, is to program morals and values back into the minds of every citizen. 

So not only should we be very mindful of what input we are subjecting ourselves to, but we should also observe what TV shows, movies, etc. are being produced and what ideas are being put forth to society.  We need to choose to be part of the game or not.

I love that line in Hunger Games, “What if one year everyone just stopped watching? Then they wouldn’t have the games.” Just like MJ used to say about tabloid junk, if everyone just stopped reading it and buying it, it wouldn’t survive. 

Sigh… I’m just rambling on and my thoughts are all over the place.   I hope someone understands what I am saying. 🙂

When God Speaks

When God speaks….

So I went away to a camp for a few days.  Being around the nature was so exhilarating and peaceful at the same time.

Anyway, I just went to relax, catch a Pastor who was doing a sermon (didn’t know on what but he seemed interesting), and reconnect with family and some old friends.

So I have been contemplating whether I should a) shut down my blog, b) shut down my blog and Twitter, c) shut down my Twitter, d) keep both running as is, or e) merge my Twitter and Blog (which are under a pseudo name) with my real life.  I have been praying about it and my heart says E but my fears say B or D.

I truly believe God wants to use me, the blog, my twitter, in some way to glorify Him and to further His kingdom.  I’ve been unsure how though.  I wonder if it has helped some but their relationship with God and I just don’t know it.  All these thoughts about whether I am doing the right thing. Sigh.

Anyway, I go to see this Pastor speak and he starts by saying that what he was about to preach on was not what he had planned.  Just 3 hours prior, he felt the need to change his talk.  He starts to talk about social media as a means to reach people for God.

So he talked about how many people will not go to a church or look up a Pastor and ask questions.  They will go on the internet and chat about it.

This brought me back to many conversations I have had via my blog and Twitter about my relationship with God and leading people back to Him.

So my question was answered in such a loud and clear way….. I praise God for making His answer known.

So my options have been reduced now to D and E.

Now I just pray for clarity on whether to remain Wendy Little or reveal my true identity and merge my worlds.

Pray for me my friends.

Three Years

Hello everyone!

Well it’s been 3 years since Michael “died”.  To me, it was when I was reborn.  The journey has been one of many emotions, many friends, some hatred, some misunderstanding, but lots of love.

This past weekend I had an opportunity to really look at my life, review the lessons I’ve learned from June 25, 2009 to today and yesterday I decided to take a major turn in my life.

I decided to radically APPLY what I’ve been learning.  To CONNECT with people again… not ON the internet but in person.  I’ve decided to take my time, money and energy and go and find people in MY IMMEDIATE WORLD and make a difference there.  Basically I decided to focus on really changing and designing my story.

So how ironic when I saw Brandon’s tweet this morning from back in June 13th stating “Stop watching HIStory and Make YOUR story ! – B. HOWARD Δ******#mission ”  That really is it for me.

I got tired of watching people living a life, watching Michael & his sphere make an impact for good in the world, and now I am unplugging and making MY STORY… MY impact.

I can tell you what my story will be about though.  It will all be about the glory of God.  My life is for HIM to use… no one else.

My goal, similar to someone else I know, is to be like Jesus.  I will be reading my Bible, studying the Word of God, studying Jesus, and doing everything in my power to be like Him.  Through my example, I want to help others to desire to do the same.

So will I be on Twitter and on my blog?  I’m not sure.  If God sees it as an opportunity for me to use these modes to glorify Him, then I will be on.

I know for certain He has allowed me to meet some amazing friends on Twitter and through the blog and maybe, hopefully, those friendships will continue, but if not, then I trust that God has done the work He needed to during this time.

So on this 3rd year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, I see it as a time for celebration.  It really is to me Michael’s birth.   So we could discover the man behind Michael Jackson.  My birthday/anniversary gift to Michael is not to dedicate my life to Michael, to vindicating His name, to glorifying Michael… NO, my gift is to glorify God and dedicate my life to serving my Heavenly Father.  In doing so, I believe a big part of what I’ll be sharing is how Michael’s name could get so tarnished and what world really is…. it’s satan’s playground.

We need to know what is REALLY going on… the spiritual battle.  The scary part is, it’s not even always the blatantly obvious things that are satanic… it is the slight deceptions that are the ones that really get you.  The justifications for sinful behaviour that seems ok because everyone does it.

I’m going to dare to be different.  In this case, I will not look for approval from the majority because bottomline, the majority is mostly likely going to think I’m weird and radical.  Oh well… I am only living my life for an Audience of One.

Study your Bible like the back of your hand.  Know the truth.  God has designed us for greatness.

Lastly remember, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s enough to just believe. Even a fool believes. You must ACT on your beliefs.

It’s time to ACT!   Everyday, create YOUR history!

I’m BAD!

The “Bad” short film is really spectacular.  Released in 1987 (–> 2+5 –> 7), just two years before I experienced my first encounter with racism, Bad challenges us to look at why we think the way we do.

Darryl is a young black man from the projects who is striving to do good with his life.  He goes off to school, educating himself, rising above the stereotypes of the black man from the projects.  When he returns, his friends can’t handle he changes and like crabs in a bucket, do everything to bring him back down to their level of mediocrity.

Actually, his old crew are definitely of the negative persuasion as their idea of making it is to show how “bad” you are by mugging someone.  Full of hate, anger, disregard for another human being.

I’m going to stop here because I have to ask myself, why is it that there is this stereotype of what a black man from the projects is like?  Are they ALL into petty crime?  Should I be clutching my purse if I see a black man walking towards me? Unfortunately, this is what many people think.  It’s called prejudice.  And to make it worse, why when someone wants to do better with their life would we ever try to sabotage that? Where is the love? Where is the encouragement?

I absolutely love ANY dance routine from Michael Jackson, but I really love the dance segment in “Bad”.  Did you know that a lot of the inspiration for this scene was from the “Cool” scene in the West Side Story (another film dealing with the issue of racism).

What’s even cooler is that West Side Story is based on Romeo and Juliet (yet another script dealing with the issue of racism).

Gosh!  Racism has been around forever! Why? Why do we not love one another?  It’s all about ego and pride.  We strive to want to look better than another.  We want to be revered.  We want to be looked upon as special.  Don’t get me wrong we are unique and special but it is not because of anything that we do.  It’s because GOD made us special.  HE made us unique!  He made us ALL in HIS image.  We are ONE.  When we realize that, that we are not separate, we are not enemies, and we become allies, in love, to glorify the ONE who made us, we will truly heal the world.

Lastly I’ll leave you with this, Matthew 22:36-40:

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

The Big Picture

Hello MJ Fam!

I wanted to share from my heart a bit tonight.  I am truly sorry for not posting as much.  I really want to share my journey with you and things I come across and I have not been taking the time to do so.  I apologize.

I truly believe that we all need to share our journeys so we can learn and grow and discuss.  I’ve been hoarding my studies to myself.  Of course there is a time and place for everything.  I believe the time is now.

So one thing that has been on my heart has been what I will call the big picture.  I think sometimes we get so caught up in our lives that we forget what is really going on in this world.  We are in the middle of a spiritual battle.

I was reminded of this, this week in so many ways I can’t even begin to tell you.

So I wanted to share a couple links that you may find helpful and that, I pray, will put things into perspective for you as it did for me.

The first is called Cosmic Conflict.  It tells us of the origins of evil.  It’s basically an overview of what happened in heaven, how we got here, and a reminder of who really has rule over this world.

The second is one called BattleCry and just shows what is happening in the world of our children.

We are in the middle of a war and there is no middle of the ground in a war.  You/we need to pick a side.  Many of us are straddling the fence.  Our loyalties are to things, other people, and not to the One who created us.

The battlefield is our mind.  The method is control of our beliefs via our input (media, music, books, etc.).  The good news is we control what we put into our minds (for the most part).

The thing is, who we’ve been designed to be, from the beginning of time, is being distorted.  We need to get back to our true design.  I believe if God showed us who we really are, what we are capable of, it would blow our minds.

This is where I am right now.  I’ve been studying about who I am in Christ.  I am a pawn on GOD’s chessboard.  He is moving me where He needs me and I need to LET Him.

Anyway, I just want you all to know, I care for you.  I want the best for you.  I want you to know that we can make a difference in this world.  We need to know WHY we are doing it though.  It’s not for MJ (even though he’s been an incredible example).  It’s because we are part of the Army of LOVE and God is LOVE.  Yes we are part of the Army of God and we need to play our role in this war.

I can’t tell you what the role is…. only God knows that.  I just hope you will pray for His leading and guidance in this area.  I pray we will do the will of God and be loyal to Him.

I will continue to pray for all of you.  Some I will be able to do by name, others I will pray for generally.

I will be spending more time over at Michael’s Army of Love where I believe a great work is being done.  Where people of different faiths are coming together to discuss beliefs and work towards truth.

So I encourage you to take some time this week and figure out, what do I believe? For whom am I living my life?  Have I chosen a side?

Then enter the battlefield and fight like your life depends on it….

Because it does.

Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted but I’m still around! 🙂

I’ve been studying, researching, really asking myself the hard questions.  I’ve had to.  In dealing with so many people with differing beliefs, you start to question, what do I believe?

While studying I came across a fantastic site with some thought provoking, powerful videos that I wanted to share with you.  http://www.digma.com/videos/

I know for me, I was raised to believe in a little of the deterministic view, the benevolent view and the appeasment view.  You know, God has things planned for my life (deterministic) and He loves me (benevolent) but if I screw up and get off track I could go to hell and I better do my penance (appeasment). 🙂  Well that’s how I interpreted things.

I’m learning now that God IS love and benevolent theism is what I believe.  That God loves me and He wants me to love Him more than anything.  He gives me free will so that I can freely CHOOSE to love Him.

So I want to know, what do you guys believe? Where are you at in your life journey?  And why?
