Believing and knowing are two different things. Don’t take my word as conclusive evidence. The proof will be provided in future HIStory……….

Actually two things from this statement caught my eye and got me thinking.

1. Believing vs Knowing

Believing is to accept something as true.  Such as I believe in God.  Even the devil believes in God. I believe Michael Jackson is alive.  I accept this as true based on what I’ve read, heard, seen, etc.  Basically you CHOOSE to believe in something.

Now, knowing is to having DIRECT KNOWLEDGE of some concept.  So something happens to me, a change of heart, a healing, that is not explainable by any means, I may say I KNOW God because of my personal experience with Him.  Or I go to Neverland gates and Michael Jackson comes by and says HI.  I’ve seen him so I KNOW he’s alive. (This is hypothetical, I have not seen Michael Jackson LOL)

We need to move from being believers to KNOWers.

Believers take another person’s word for things and haven’t done their own study.  They are weak. They will blow with the wind changing opinions left and right.  They are full of doubt.

Knowers have done their study and they are confident in what they know.  They trust implicitly and are aware of what’s going on.

2. Future HIStory

Every time I hear “history” it makes me think of one thing…

Yesterday I decided to look at not just history but FUTURE HISTORY.

Future HIStory is actually a style of writing where the author, living in let’s say time A, writes from the perspective of being in time B and writing about time C.  So for example, I, living in 2012, could write a story about being in 2100’s writing about events that happened in the “past” in 2040.

Then it hit me… THAT’S LIKE THE BIBLE!  Some may argue that it’s people in the past writing about the past, present and future.  Ok.  However, I believe that this story called the Bible is an account of what is already written.

Our concept of time and God are beyond our comprehension.   Our thoughts on this are very linear and time may not be a linear concept.  If it was then how could anyone have a premonition?  But that’s another topic.

The Bible to me is HIStory.  It’s HIS story.  It’s already done.  The battle is already won!  However, it is future to me.

Future HIStory.

There are some of us that believe this.  Then there are some of us that know this.  We’ve spent days and nights studying God’s Word.  We’ve invested time and money to dig for the treasures that lie in those pages.  We cry out to God for wisdom and discernment.  We’ve been rewarded with HIS love.

I pray this for you.  That you will read the blueprint of what we are living so you won’t be in the dark anymore.  I pray you will read HIStory and have Psalm 119:105 come to life in your own life.

Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Now I hate to guess at return dates because… well it’s kind of like Christmas and Christmas gifts… you know you’re getting a gift but there’s an element that is unknown, what is it?  I was never the one to ruin the surprise by hunting for my gift or trying to guess ahead of time what it was.  I just waited and enjoyed the moment I got to be surprised.

Having said that, this thought just popped into my head (and maybe someone has already mentioned/thought of this?)

Maybe 1221 is not the date, but the days of the hoax.

1221 days from June 25, 2009 would be October 28, 2012.

A few interesting things that have happened on October 28

2011 – Rumored end date of Mayan Calendar

AND 1992, on October 28, it was rumoured that the Christian rapture would happen.  Now there has also been comparisons between MJ and Jesus and here in 1992 people believed Jesus would return.

Wouldn’t it be something if 30 years later a person who just wanted to emulate Jesus was to return?

So I’ve listed the seven sins, their corresponding solutions/virtues, and things that God absolutely detests.

I am also going to note in italics some of the specific ways I have leaned toward the sinful side and the things I will change this year.

Virtues Meanings

Vices Meanings

 Lust

• Excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature.  (Gold pants… need I say more)

Gluttony

• Over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste.
• Depending on the culture, it can be seen as either a vice or a sign of status. Where food is relatively scarce, being able to eat well might be something to take pride in. But in an area where food is routinely plentiful, it may be considered a sign of self-control to resist the temptation to over-indulge.  (Food, sweets)

Greed

• sin of excess
• Very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of wealth, status, and power.
• Scavenging and hoarding of materials or objects, theft and robbery, especially by means of violence, trickery, or manipulation of authority are all actions that may be inspired by greed.

Sloth

• failure to utilize one’s talents and gifts (shying away from singing for fear of what others think)
• laziness and indifference are the sin at the heart of the matter (not standing for injustices in order to keep peace)
• Since this contrasts with a more willful failure to, for example, love God and his works, sloth is often seen as being considerably less serious than the other sins, more a sin of omission than of commission.
• Acedia (Latin, acedia) (from Greek ακηδία) is very close to sloth and is the neglect to take care of something that one should do.  (yes not taking care of what I know I need to)
• apathetic listlessness; depression without joy.
• willful refusal to enjoy the goodness of God and the world God created
• a refusal to help others in time of need. (sometimes get focussed on what I want to do & choose to not help-usually when my energy is low)

Wrath

• Wrath (Latin, ira), also known as “rage”, may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. (even though the expression is not outward it is there… passive aggressive)
• self-destructiveness, violence, and hate that may provoke feuds that can go on for centuries.
• impatience, revenge, and vigilantism.
• suicide deemed as the ultimate expression of hatred directed inwardly, a final rejection of God’s gifts.

Envy

• insatiable desire in general
• resent that another person has something they perceive themselves as lacking and wish the other person to be deprived of it.

Pride

• original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and the source of the others.
• a desire to be more important or attractive than others (wanting to look good, wanting others to think well of me, wanting compliments, etc.)
• failing to acknowledge the good work of others
• excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God)
• Vainglory (Latin, vanagloria) is closely related to pride and is unjustified boasting.
• Vanity, narcissism

As for the abominations, well pride I already covered, I have lied in order to save face (which I think is also tied to pride and wanting others to think well of me), shedding innocent blood makes me think of when MJ was on stage and didn’t want them to kill the bug… if a bug is innocent blood, then I’ve shed innocent blood.  The others ones haven’t been an issue so far.

So I’ve beared myself a bit here in order to hopefully resonate with someone out there.  Hopefully we will realize that these things are so accepted by society today that it’s scary.  We are a nation heading to disaster because we tolerate WAY too much of the sinful nature.

Now don’t misinterpret my words here.  I am not judging myself or others too harshly so please don’t go there.  What I am doing is holding myself and all around me to a higher standard of conduct.

We are living WAY below our potential!  We can and we WILL be better and more in line with these virtues if we just focus on it, discipline ourselves and pray for God’s strength.

This is Paul’s letter to the Philippians.  He is imprisoned but still joyful.  He writes to the Philippians and in this section I’m focusing on is his exhortation to unity and humility.

One of the things I found very interesting is that unity CALLS FOR humility and that if we mimic Jesus, if we follow his example, the church (as a body of Christ followers, not a building or religion) will work out their problems/differences because they will be of one mind.

What is humility anyway… because this seems to be important.

First thing I thought of was humiliation, embarrassment… this does not seem very appealing! LOL

Humiliation is only so if the humbling of yourself is done against your will.  Someone putting you in your place for example.

The proper way is to humble YOURSELF before God, confess your sins, and realize that all you have is a gift from God.

To say that I am a sinner is not a pity thing or poor me I’m hopeless, it’s just a reality check that we fall short of God’s standards all the time and because of this we are in need of God’s mercy and grace.

Ephesians 4:17-24 talks about unity being achieved through rejecting all that corrupts and being Christ-like.

When I am likeminded with Jesus, I will be in unity with Him.  Likewise, other Christ-followers who are likeminded with Jesus will be likeminded with me… and there is the root of our unity.

Philippians 2:3 says let nothing be done through strife or vainglory.

Strife: self-serving, self-seeking, self-promoting

Vainglory: looking to esteem yourself

But in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than themselves.

Lowliness of mind: humility

Proverbs 22:4 says by humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, honor and life.

Ill end with this because this was just something I was briefly looking up,

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.

This pretty much spells out what we need to do to heal the world:

Of course we need to start with the Man in the Mirror and

Humble ourselves

Pray

Seek God

Turn from our wicked ways

Like I said, this is just a few quick thoughts.  I hope to study this more in the weeks ahead.

So here we go!

I was so excited and, of course, had my extra sensitive detective glasses on, looking for anything and everything that may be noteworthy.

Well while I was waiting in the line-up, we saw one of the twin dancers (not sure if it was Larry or Laurent) came to the door and greeted some kids and signed an autograph (which made their day!!)  It was nice to see them caring about the kids like that.

Then the doors opened and as I was walking in the security was on the phone and he said “Yeah I gotta go I’m working the Michael Jackson concert” O_O  LOL  Well if I was only 99% excited before, I was now 200% excited! Hahaha

So on to the atmosphere.  I was very disappointed and maybe it’s just where I was sitting.  The people all around us were DEAD!!! Yep Thriller in the making! We were in the VIP seats and we knew we got a VIP bag with goodies.

When we got to our seats, we noticed that some people didn’t get their bags.  So we made it our mandate to direct people to the table to make sure they got their gift bag, program, lanyard with VIP pass and beautifully embossed journal (which I was so excited about).  All we asked was for them to pay the kindness forward.

There were people there that just did not get the impact of what they were about to witness.  People were complaining that the gift bag was “all they got”.  The people behind us complained about their seats being uncomfortable.  (I was sitting in row 4 and I was so mad.  I decided to have some fun and said loud enough for them to hear “Wow these seats are so comfortable!  I think the first 4 rows have extra cushions or something…. Pillow top seats…. It’s like a cloud!”) hahaha I’m such a brat! Some people complained that they didn’t get free beer or alcohol and proceeded to get drunk.  But then there was one lady that was so touched that we made sure she got her free bag that she turned around several times during the night to just reiterate how touched and grateful she was.

Anyway, then the show began… I won’t go into extreme details on my reactions other than to say WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN OUR AREA DANCING!!! SMH!  I danced (in my seat because security was on us not to stand) and sang to the point that we were so noticeable to the dancers on stage.  They pointed at us and we encouraged them with our stellar dance moves and knowledge of every lyric dished out!  LOL

So my memory is not the greatest so I’ll be using my program as a reference and commenting on what my reactions were.

First off, in the program it talks of the BAD World Tour 1987-1989 and shows some pictures of MJ in all his glory.

There are two quotes:

“Consciousness expresses itself through creation.  The world we live in is the dance of the Creator. Dancers come and go in the twinkling of an eye but the dance lives on.” MJJ

AND

“I keep on dancing and dancing… (dot dot dot LOL #MJfansunderstand) and dancing, until there is only… the dance.” MJJ

Then it goes on to the Dangerous World Tour 1992-1993 again with beautiful, passionate pictures, and again two quotes:

“Those are moments when fate is unsealed, nothing is impossible and we are healed, we can soar, we can fly, walk on fire, navigate the sky.” MJJ

AND

“Deep inside, you know it’s true.  Just find that child, it’s hiding in you.” MJJ

Next, the HIStory World Tour 1996-1997

“…silence is my real dance, though it never moves.  It stands aside, my choreographer of grace, and blesses each finger and toe.” MJJ

Ok the reason I walked through this may have impacted you already.  It states all of Michael’s World Tours, Immortal being ONE OF THEM!! HELLO??!!  This is MJ’s baby, MJ’s creation, in a new and innovative form!  That’s all I will say about that.

Now onto the songs:

Workin Day and Night

I can imagine this is how it all started.  MJ got to the point where he was workin day and night.  Haven’t you ever gotten to the point where you just stop and wonder, how did I get here?  This is NOT what I want for my life.  It’s out of control!  I have.  That’s where drastic changes HAVE TO be made.

Immortal Intro

This is so rich with meaning for me.  Going back in time “remember the time” … reviewing… Just hearing the “Michael” chant and the sound of machinery just makes me think of a manufacturing plant (which is how I see the whole music industry).  Just manufacture a money making image with no care of what it may be doing to the individual performer.  It also kind of sounds like a whip and the sound of Michael yelling… like a slave.  Cranking out hit after hit, pressured to produce, J5 songs, ending with where there is love, I’ll be there.

Childhood

Then it starts with Michael talking about children’s childhoods being stolen from them… from him.

Unfortunately, or fortunately some may say, Michael entered that manufacturing plant at an early age and consequently lost his childhood.  This was the most moving part of the show for me.  They had little Michael peering through a window and… I couldn’t help but want to protect and love that little one.  I was getting angry but then had to remind myself that his childhood (or lack thereof) gave him the experiences he has had and made MJ who he is today.  The man that loves God, wants to honor Him and impact the world for His glory.

Hearing Michael IN HIS OWN WORDS talking of his view on things, creativity, and the beauty of the cirque display was beyond words.

Wanna Be Startin’ Something

I don’t really remember too much from this part other than I was dancing like crazy!  High energy! Woo hoo!!!

Shake Your Body Down to the Ground

This part was great!  Five fans trying to get into Neverland… another “how can you people stay still?!!” moment LOL.  Looking at things as a story from this point, I just thought what an adjustment from being just a regular set of kids who were singing to now having people at their gates trying to get a picture, touch, glimpse, anything! Sheesh!  That would be traumatic for a child let alone for me now as a 40 year old!

Dancing Machine:

Again made me think of being a cog in a well-oiled machine.  Five guys like puppets being controlled by a puppet master.  The sound of the machine kind of dies down and then goes into….

Ben:

It’s like when Michael was out of the machine it was back to being the child he wanted to be… one who loved the wonder of animals and this glorious world.  It was just so innocent and to hear Michael’s little voice so clear… broke my heart.  I think at the end there was a part that was like when in ET Elliot is riding his bike and then flies and the joy he felt… I think I heard that music and then it was abruptly cut.  Made me think again of Michael’s joy being cut… him being disillusioned in someway.

This Place Hotel:

Now into HEARTBREAK hotel.  To me heartbreak hotel is the music industry.  Just looks like a nice place from the outside but once you enter, you’re doomed to heartache, pain, and despair.

Smooth Criminal:

Annie are you ok?  Who is Annie?  Annie to me could be the artists who are taken advantage of.  Was Michael taken advantage of? HELL YEAH!

Dangerous:

Ah yes the dangerous women. J  I’m sure he had MANY of those coming around… wanting him for his money… using their sexual prowess to suck him in.  I hate to admit, when I was younger I would have done that.  Thank goodness I’ve matured and grown in my relationship with God.

Mime:

This puts it all in perspective for me.  Talking about God being the source of all his talents and Another Part of Me playing.  THIS GOT ME SO EXCITED!! This is my reason for everything I do.  All to bring glory to God!  If we listen to Michael’s words… not what he was reported as saying, not tabloid trash, but HIS WORDS we will know that Michael lived for God too.  I truly believe Michael’s life has done this but that in his “death” many will learn even more about God through Michael and his work.

Jackson 5 Medley:

This was just fun… the dancers were great as the fans that get to go to Neverland.  MY DREAM!!!!  The recreation of parts of Neverland was absolutely one of my favourite parts because it is a dream of mine (one which I know will be a reality somehow someway someday)

Speechless/Human Nature:

Oh my gosh!!! This was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end.  Hearing Michael singing speechless so loud and clear and then into such a beautiful rendition of Human Nature with the aerial acts… for me THIS was bliss! I love looking at the stars.  Anyone who knows me knows that my neck is always cranked back looking at the sky.  This was amazing for me!

Is It Scary:

To me this is where life turns.  Where the hunter becomes the hunted.  Where evil rears it’s ugly head.  If I was Michael I would feel paranoid like someone is always watching me and threatened.  These are the songs that were spliced together.

Thriller:

There are little things that stand out for me.  “The midnight hour’s close at hand” has always done that for me in Thriller.  To me the midnight hour is when things are the darkest.  Dark is associated with evil.  It is also the time when we are now heading into the light… into a new day.  Where the dead, those who are asleep, will awaken.  Where we realize that we are a being in a rotting corpse.  Where we realize that we struggle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Thriller is a very deep and spiritual song for me and this is the turning point in this production from what we are up against to where we need to go.

You are Not Alone/I Just Can’t Stop Loving You:

I know these songs are supposed to be a guy talking about a girl but I have NEVER heard it like this.  To me this is about our relationship with God.  Psalm 34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.  We are never alone, God is always with us.  You are Not Alone could be God saying to us that we are not alone, God is here with us, though we’re far apart, He’s always in our hearts.  Same with I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.  Just listen to it with ears of it being our relationship with God and you’ll see what I mean.  Last point on this… how can you not go crazy with MJ singing in Spanish!!! Be still my heart!

Beat It:

This was so hilarious and with the glove and socks and shoes… classic!  It was like when Michael reconnected with God or God a perspective on things… what he was to the world was gloves and sparkle socks.

Jam:

This was another one of my favorites mainly because I feel this is unfortunately one of the most underrated songs.  The words are heaven-sent.  This is my ringtone!  This is the state of the world and we gotta do something about it!  We underestimate our power to change this world.  If we would EACH own up to the power God gave each of us, we had the humility to know it was God given and we USED it with a Jesus like spirit, this world would be so different!!!

Planet Earth/Earth Song:

What can I say.  This is God’s gift to us… this earth… and what are we doing to the gift? Are we being good stewards of what God has given us?  This is the cry of not Michael Jackson but of the heavens speaking/singing through MJ… reflecting to us what we have done… speaking for the animals, trees, waters, etc. that cannot speak for themselves.  Here MJ was the voice for the voiceless.

Scream/Little Susie

Another song that is so full of wisdom.  You live your life, you do your best, and things in this world are just not fair.  This world is so full of corruption, deceit, lies, it just makes you want to scream.   There is a system in this world and it SUCKS!!!  This is a cry to God for mercy as we live in this crazy world.  Makes me think of Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Gone Too Soon:

All I could think of was the memorial on this one.  I have such a hard time listening to this song.  It just reminds me of all the greats that are “gone too soon”.

They Don’t Care About Us:

It took EVERYTHING in my being to not get up on stage and march!  The costumes!  ?, $, peace symbols and hearts on their chests.  This is what we are fighting against.  The system that doesn’t care about US!!!

Heal the World – Will You Be There/I’ll Be There:

How do we fight? WITH LOVE!!!  Evidenced with the soldiers with hearts.  Also, a reconfirmation that MJ will be there.

Can You Feel It/Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough/Billie Jean/Black or White:

Then the party begins!!! LOL Unity! We’re all the same!  Can you feel it?!! J The Force, it’s gotta lotta power!  Bringing all the cultures together… love it! I especially loved the modification of Black or White to be representative of the different musical styles.  Yes, the universal language of music!

Man in the Mirror:

The finale… and a reminder that it starts with us.  Look in the mirror, there’s the solution, the one staring back at you.  We better change if we want to make this world a better place.

Remember the Time/Bad

Let’s remember the times… there is nothing new under the sun… if we look back in the past, we will learn so much for our future.  Lastly, a reminder that he’s BAD! This BAD theme has been just that… an underlying theme.  We know what’s going on and the whole world has to answer right now!

I want you to be clear, I don’t believe MJ is more special than any of us in anyway.  I believe each and every one of us can do what MJ has done if we would allow God to use us and move forward in faith.  I believe we are each a vessel for God to use.  We may not be a singer, or a dancer, but we each have individual talents and gifts that we need to thank God for. We’ve just forgotten what our place is in this life we call HIStory.  It is not my story or your story, it is God’s story.  When we realize that we are all actors in this movie called HIStory, being directed by the one and only Director, and we all have a role to play, maybe then we will study our Script.

What is the sense in learning things if you’re not going to apply it to your own life?

I’m not learning things so I can judge others! Lol

So lately I’ve been reading the tweets of a certain user that shall remain nameless as I don’t want to promote them or put them down in any way.   Well let’s just say between gold pants pictures and that user, my thoughts have not been the best.  Oh yeah I justified saying that it’s only in my head it’s not like I’m acting upon any of these thoughts.  And let me tell you some of the stuff that happens in that mental world is sheer magic!

Then I had to do a self-check and more importantly, a TRUTH check.  Is it really ok because it’s only in my head?  What does the Bible say about this?  What do success principles (for those of you still doubting the Bible) say about this?

Before I get into this, isn’t it funny how most people who talk about “sexual fantasies” are talking to men?  Hey there are some horny women out there too! LOL

So I started in Matthew 5:27-30:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery. ’But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”

WHOA!!! Crapola!  Yep I’ve been lusting after a certain celeb that we all know and love and according to the Bible I HAVE ALREADY COMMITTED THE ADULTERY WITH HIM IN MY HEART!!!  Now I know some of you are saying, yeah but that doesn’t apply to me because I’m single… it’s not adultery.  Think again.   Adultery is willing intercourse with a person other than your legal spouse.  If they are not legally yours (whether you are married or not), then you are committing adultery!

Ok so to be honest I was like, what is the big freakin’ deal?  It’s not harming anyone!  It’s only in my mind!  Well here is a page FULL of Bible verses encouraging me to guard my thoughts

I don’t understand the ways of God sometimes and I don’t claim to understand the power of my mind, but many success principles also deal with the mind, law of attraction, visualization as being powerful in bringing things to fruition.

One of my favourite success quotes is:

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.

Watch your words, for they become actions.

Watch your actions, for they become habits.

Watch your habits, for they become character.

Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

My little mental flings could be having an impact on my life and more importantly my salvation more than I could even imagine.

Am I willing to take that risk?  Hell no!!!

Ironically as I was wrestling with this topic in my mind , and similarly the idolization of MJ, @philpot70 sent out a series of tweets on idolization.  I don’t know her spiritual walk but what I do know is God speaks in one voice! Amen!  She said “Michael 4 me is very spiritual person. When we idolize him I think it hurts him. I truly do. *smooches*”  I AGREE!!!

Anyone who loves God (as I believe MJ does) wants all the glory to go to God and wants to help others build a relationship with Him.  What a heavy burden it must be to have millions of women not only glorifying you (some even going as far as to say MJ IS their god) but to also have women committing mental adultery because you are so dang sexy?!  That is a huge burden to carry as you would feel like a stumbling block… one hindering the godly mental lives of his fans.

Ultimately though we are responsible for our own lives.  We are to look at ourselves, point the finger at what we need to change.  Here’s a great quote from MJ himself “People don’t look at themselves honestly.  They don’t look at themselves and point the finger.  It’s always the other guy’s fault.  You should change yourself.  Look at yourself, make better of yourself.”

Like I said in my tweets earlier, this is in no way pointing a finger at anyone other than myself.  I just share what I’m going through and the things I’m learning and changing in hopes that it will touch someone else out there going through the same thing.

If my downfalls spur you on to a deep relationship with God and yourself, then my screw ups have now been turned into positive.   And as it says in Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
